Edgar Mosa is an artist born in Lisbon, Portugal where he was trained as a goldsmith at the age of 14. He holds a Bachelor of Design from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in The Netherlands and a Master of Fine Art from Cranbrook Academy of Art in the United States. Mosa works and lives in New York.
His work is grounded in material and method while exploring temporal symbolism, his environment, and fashion. While in Detroit, Michigan, he developed a body of work exploring wood as a main source, which made his debut solo “adj.Derma” at Galeria Reverso in 2013.
His studio in New York City has become a secret hideout for underground stars, designers and artists of all types. Sometimes he “sketches” pieces directly on their bodies, which can plant the seed for an entire collection. All the works are handmade and produced by Edgar Mosa himself. Bio
